Before we start, could you please introduce yourself first?
With pleasure? My name is Inal Kardan. Joined the waves team back in 2018 as a developer advocate and is responsible for building a community of developers and helping third-party developers to build their applications on top of the Waves blockchain. Last year I mostly work with WavesDucks, because I’m a co-founder of this wonderful project.
Q1: What is Waves Ducks? Could you share with us some important things you want us to know about the game?
Waves Ducks is a collectible play-to-earn NFT game.
During the game, the players use different game mechanics to earn in-game currency (eggs, or EGG tokens), used to buy NFT ducks — the main characters of the game. More ducks give more EGG income to buy even more ducks.
It all started with Waves Ducks, a collectible game where users can buy NFT ducks, breed them with each other, and put them on perches to be rewarded with in-game currency — EGG tokens.
Later, collective farms appeared, bringing together hundreds and even thousands of players and allowing them to get EGG with minimum investment without the need to buy their own NFTs.
With time, the Duck Wars mode became available, which introduced the Play to Earn mechanic with turn-based duck battles. Players receive EGG for participating in battles with zero investment, while NFT duck owners rent out their fighters (Jeducks) for a fee (also in the form of EGG).
The duck universe continues to expand and in December, MetaRace was launched. It is a multiplayer 3D racing game where you have to capture eggs (including those possessed by other players) and deliver them to the base. The game has a separate RACE token.
Q2: How do NFTs work in Waves Ducks?
NFT characters — are characters from the memes portrayed as ducks. Each duck has its own set of genes, which can be mixed through the process of breeding. The less common a particular set of genesis, the higher the rarity of the duck. The rarity determines the duck’s price, farming productivity, as well as strength in combat and in races. There are also special ducks with a 100% rarity, which are dropped with a small chance during some actions or are the product of collaborations, events, etc.
Q3: How are Waves Tech and Waves Ducks related?
Waves is an all-encompassing ecosystem of innovative Web 3.0 technologies for everyday implementation and usage.
The main idea I’d like to remember after this AMA — try products in the Waves Ecosystem or try to build a product on top of the Waves Protocol (if you’re a developer).
You will find:
-decentralized exchange (really decentralized, but convenient and with an order book)

– Dapp for loans
– staking
– One of the most active and big algorithmic stablecoins (called Neutrino)

Q5: Waves Ducks is a world with its own economy. Please tell us more about Eggnomics?
Waves Ducks EGG / Main token
You need it to hatch or buy ducks, items, or invest in collective farms. Purchasable with a bank card or crypto, EGG can also be acquired as rewards in Metaverse or during marketing rounds.
Collective Farm Tokens
Special kind of tokens that entitles you to regular rewards in EGG. You get them as a reward for winning in Duck Wars or when investing directly in one of the collective farms.
Third-party game tokens
Custom tokens were introduced by the game mode developers within the Metaverse. One of such tokens is RACE, specifically designed to award the winners in MetaRace.

Q6: You have collaborated with celebrities — artist Pokras Lampas, boxer Petr Yan, Tiktoker Spencer X. They all have customized ducks that were sold for thousands of dollars. Is it possible for ordinary users to create their own duck?
Yes, among our artifacts there is one that allows you to invent your own duck, and then put it up for sale. The artifacts possess significant profit-boosting powers and being of limited supply, increase in value over time. All artifacts can be sold to other players.
Custom Jackpot Duck is the artifact that gives you an opportunity to design a duck according to your portrait or other provided references. Your custom duck will have a status of jackpot and a 100% rarity.

Q8: What kind of games are in the universe now?
The universe of Waves Dax includes two types of games:
Card game — Duck Wars
Upon registration, each player is provided with a duckling, which you can raise into an adult NFT duck by participating in battles and buying feed for EGG.
Each player has three cards in their hand, and the opponent’s cards are also visible.
Racing game — Metarace
The first implementation will be a 3D farm for the Waves Ducks characters, where NFT ducks and ducklings can ride a tractor to grab an egg and take it to the rocket.
Q9: How can we win in the Waves Ducks Game?
Once you get yourself a strong duck, you will have several monetization strategies.
Farming
Place the duck on a perch and get EGGs. The cost of the perch is 1 EGG. The farming power depends on rarity.
Play&Earn
Play with your duck as the main character in one of the Metaverse’s games and get rewards. The win rate and rewards depend on the game, the level of the additional items, the rarity of the duck, and its achievements.
Rent out
Send a duck to one of the Metaverse’s game modes and let other players rent it. The rewards depend on the game, the level of the item, the rarity of the duck, and its achievements.
Trade
The price and demand for a duck depend on its genes, rarity, breeding ability, and unlocked achievements.
Q10: What is your favorite strategy?
I believe in Ducks and $EGG, so I have a farm and my ducks make EGGs for me. That’s my favorite strategy. We’re just starting our journey and I collect EGGs and Ducks for the future game mechanics.

Waves are accelerating in price. Is it related to the Waves Labs roadmap?
I hope so. Waves is growing pretty good and it’s awesome! Waves is going global, opening office in the US and it’s going to help all projects on the Waves Blockchain
How many different types of characters are available in Waves Ducks game? Can these characters be improved? and Do we start the waves ducks game for free or is there an initial investment for the purchase of $EGG?
There are 9 main types of ducks called genesis ducks and about 30 unique types (called jackpot ducks). They can be improved with items (artifacts). If you want to hatch a duck — you have to pay at least around 3.7 EGG for one duck.
How will rarity affect Duck Wars and MetaRace?
Rarity is at the core of Ducks and Metarace. It affects how many EGGs product your duck, how good your duck is in Wars and in Metarace. Rarity is calculated in a pretty interesting manner in the game so I recommend reading the docs to understand how it works.
Between the card games and the other which is more rewarding?
The card game is rewarding for every win, Metarace is rewarding only during tournaments, but rewards are much higher. So it’s hard to say what is more profitable.
